This dramatic navy and grey Mission Inn wedding for Summer and Daniel was one of my fave color palates. We provided the floral design and the navy pintuck and satin linens were provided by our sister company Linen Savvy. Always a pleasure to work with the staff at the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa. We are loving these gorgeous images from Amelia Lyon Photography!

Jason and Terry were married at the Historical Mission Inn and Spa. They chose a gorgeous color palate of burgundy and gold for their Mission Inn wedding. We were honored to be a part of their big day! Thank you to PS Photo Media for the gorgeous images!

We had the pleasure of working with the ladies of Classic Touch Events on this beautiful lavender and grey Mt. Palomar Winery Wedding! Harley and Aaron are such a sweet couple! They traveled from the east coast to have their dream wedding at Mt. Palomar Winery and we were honored that they chose us to do their floral design and linens. The couple had a clear vision on the color scheme they wanted. They also knew they wanted to add touches of crystals to the wedding. Having a bit of bling is always fun! The wedding color palette was a gunmetal grey, lavender, plum, silver and ivory. We hope you enjoy the stunning photos below from Hulse photography, they did an amazing job!

We always love working at the Grand Tradition Estate and we really like when brides and grooms embrace their heritage! This blue and green Scottish wedding was really fun and rich with family traditions. We were honored to be a part of Jennifer and Eric’s wedding! Thanks so much to True Photography Weddings for always delivering gorgeous images!

About Grand Tradition Estate:

The Grand Tradition Estate concept was originated and conceived through the foresight and dreams of its creators, Earl and Beverly McDougal.  Together, they envisioned a community gathering place worthy of becoming a historic centerpiece; one that would specialize in private events and in particular, weddings and receptions.  After considerable research, they concluded that the facility should depict the very tradition and significance of the wedding ceremony itself.  With a dream of capturing the romance of the long-gone Victorian era, the family began planning and designing the gracious Victorian estate that would eventually be known as the Grand Tradition Estate.

Modern Scottish wedding traditions

Today the wedding ceremony is not quite so formal or so ritualistic – but many of today’s traditions still hearken back to the traditions of the past. Usually about a week before the ceremony the mother of the bride will hold a “show of presents” for her daughter. This corresponds to the bridal shower in other cultures. During the show of presents the female guests bring gifts to help the new couple establish a home of their own. The presents are opened for everyone to see and the bride’s mother serves tea and cakes.

Modern Scottish wedding traditions are far more relaxed than they were in the olden days, but even today remnants of the ancient traditions still linger – making Scottish weddings the festive and joyous occasions that they are.

The modern Scottish bride will wear a traditional or contemporary white wedding gown, while the groom dresses in traditional Highland kilt, kilt jacket and sporran. The couple are either bag piped down the isle or traditional Gaelic hymns are played as they walk to the alter. The Highland Wedding is played at virtually all Scottish weddings.

Once at the alter the couple may choose to recite their vows in ancient Gaelic or to recite them in modern English. Following the vows the groom often pins a strip of his clan’s tartan colors to the bride’s wedding dress to signify that she is now a member of his clan.

Following the ceremony the bride and groom and all their honored guests head to a private home or to a restaurant for a lavish reception feast. At the typical Scottish reception you can count on the bride and groom being “piped” to the table of honor, where the bride will cut the first slice of wedding cake using a dirk (a long-bladed knife) that is provided to her by the piper. As the bride slices the first piece of wedding cake, custom dictates that her hand is guided by the hand of her new husband.

The wedding reception is filled with music, signing, much drinking and toasting to the health and happiness of the new couple. The celebrations can go on into the wee hours of the morning.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to design this sweet mint green and taupe wedding at the University Club in Irvine, CA. When Brianna and her mom came to us we were very excited since we were just about to do the flowers for Brianna’s sisters wedding. I just loved her vision of rustic chic. As you can see from the photos Brianna and Brent and gorgeous and their wedding was a perfect reflection of them.

About the University Club in Irvine:

The UCI University Club was founded in 1967 and has been proudly serving the UCI Campus and community ever since. Our mission is to support UCI in meeting its educational goals through professional and social interaction between members of the campus and the community it serves.

The University Club provides a beautiful private setting for your wedding reception. If you book your special event with us, you get the use of the entire facility. Our facility has a beautiful room right off of the main lobby known as the “Library”. This room boasts a fireplace, baby grand piano, rich leather furniture, mahogany bookshelves and an elegant, mahogany built-in bar. The Library is a great room for hors d’ oeuvres & cocktails while your guests are arriving for your event. Our Main Dining Room has a wonderful view as we sit atop of Aldrich Park. The room has windows that extend from the ceiling to the floor and provide a view to the park. The trees around the perimeter of the building are wrapped in white lights for an intimate and romantic setting. This room also has a vaulted ceiling which provides an open and inviting atmosphere for you and your guests. We can accommodate up to 210 guests with a dance floor.

A special thank you to all of the participating professionals!

I love Temecula and Wineries and what could be better then a Wilson Creek Winery Wedding in the Fall? Sara and Adam were married at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, CA. Sara was one of those brides that had dreamed of her wedding day as a child and had a ton of photos and knew exactly what she wanted for her day. They added a lot of personal touch to make their wedding really reflect their personalities. Wilson Creek was such a gorgeous venue for a wedding. The night time ceremony was really romantic feeling and the reception that followed in their new ballroom was warm and inviting.

About Wilson Creek Winery:

Our winery provides extraordinary views and a dramatic open air gazebo that rises to the importance of the occasion. As a full-service wedding facility, the winery offers delicious wine country cuisine and wines, breathtaking views of the vineyards, mountains, gardens, and experienced wedding planning professionals to coordinate your specific party plans. This emerald green and gold Mission Inn wedding has been by far was one of my favorite weddings to design! Kristina and Andrei were so delightful to work with along with Kristina’s mother Kim! When they decided on an emerald green (2013’s pantone color of the year) and gold color scheme and let me run with it, I was thrilled! We decided on a layout that was a bit unusual with the tables creating a large X with the surrounding tables in the opening of each side using the linens from Linen Savvy and the stunning Chameleon Chairs from Classic Party Rentals. One of my favorite elements was an elaborate cake table design that I created with a gorgeous gold brushed cake as the center piece from Simply Cakes. The Mission Inn Hotel went above and beyond in their service for this wedding. It was incredible to see the synchronized service of the waiters complete with white gloves. The ladies from Classic Touch Events  are always a pleasure to work with made the day run perfectly! Thank you to TK Jones Photography for the beautiful images! We just love the way this adorable couple met! Here is the story in the words of our groom:

We met in sixth grade.  I sat in front of her in class and knew immediately that there was something special about her.  I actually came home after the first day of school and told my mom, “I’m in love!”

At a seventh grade Halloween party I took the opportunity to tell her that I had a crush on her.  I was dressed up as Zorro and she as Aphrodite.  I brought a rose with me and told her that I thought she was pretty and smart, and that I liked her.  She blushed and kindly accepted my rose as a token of affection. We remained good friends (we were just kids, after all!) but it certainly was the beginning of the seed of love growing between us.

Kristina and I ended up going to different high schools but kept in touch over the years.  I even asked her to my prom Junior year in high school.  It wasn’t until college that she and I began dating.  She had moved from Boston to San Francisco and although we spent the first year of our relationship long distance, I ended up moving to San Francisco as well.
